TONY Schwartz, the co-author on Donald Trumpâs infamous 1987 book The Art of the Deal, has said he believes Trump will soon resign from his position as POTUS.
The ghostwriter, who spent 18 months working on the book with the business tycoon in the 1980s, has been one of Trumpâs most vocal critics since he started running in the presidential race.
While he was with Trump writing his book, he said the business mogul was thinking about âhow do I do what ever is best for me and how do I get over everybody else,â he told CNN today.

On Thursday, Schwartz tweeted: âThe circle is closing at blinding speed. Trump is going to resign and declare victory before Mueller and congress leave him no choice.â
The comments refer to the criminal investigation into Trumpâs involvement with Russia during the election campaign last year. Former director of the FBI Robert Mueller III is at the helm of the investigation.
âTrumpâs presidency is effectively over,â Schwartz wrote in a second tweet. âWould be amazed if he survives till the end of the year. More likely resigns by fall, if not sooner.â
However, he advises that people continue to keep the pressure on the President: âTrump must be isolated. Resistance every day. The end is near but must keep pressure high.â
âAlmost all of Trumpâs limited attention is focused on beating down his critics. No time for governing which doesnât interest him anyway,â he tweeted earlier today.
Schwartz also told CNNâs anchor Anderson Cooper that he has put himself in âan isolated, no-win positionâ as President.
He attributed this to his responses to the white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virgina, and his tough talk against North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
He told Cooper that Trump had pushed away his allies including high profile business people, CEOs, his top aide and confidante Steve Bannon and a âgood percentage of Congressâ.
âHeâs said unbelievably crazy things,â he said.
âHeâll say he did everything he could to save America.
âHeâs going to try and paint this as his own victory and heâs the ultimate victor.â

In November, after Trumpâs victory at the polls, Schwartz wrote that he will continue to give away any royalties that he earns from The Art of the Deal. He has said that feels responsible for helping Trump rise to fame in the 1980s.
In an interview with CNN last year Schwartz said he was serving as a voluntary campaign adviser for Hillary Clinton as âpenanceâ for having created âa man who has become a monsterâ.
